The first couple of volumes are great but。。。 they really start to get exciting around 4 or 5。 Just finished 8 as I write this and if you think this manga is great so far （as I clearly do） I strongly urge you to continue

The fact that the main villain has already been in action is extremely pleasing。 Also love to see Nezuko in action， she always comes in with a kick。

3。5 ⭐️ Thoughts while reading:- Chp 9 LOL！ The 3 way reunion hug between Tanjiro-Nezuko-Urokodaki！ Was this shown in the anime？ Hope so！- Chp 15 Oh man。 The gag at the udon stall。 The anime executed it better with extra dialogues between them。

There's a point in this volume where I felt like I finally understood why people like this series。 Not the art， which is solid， or the plot， which is fine， but Tanjiro himself。 Most every shonen protagonist has a point where they look at their loved ones and proclaim there desire to protect them， or they beat their first major enemy and look proud of their ability to help people， or some big moment where they reaffirm their purpose。 But instead we have Tanjiro smiling softly and trying to comfor There's a point in this volume where I felt like I finally understood why people like this series。 Not the art， which is solid， or the plot， which is fine， but Tanjiro himself。 Most every shonen protagonist has a point where they look at their loved ones and proclaim there desire to protect them， or they beat their first major enemy and look proud of their ability to help people， or some big moment where they reaffirm their purpose。 But instead we have Tanjiro smiling softly and trying to comfort someone in grief。 In that moment he looks wise beyond his years and a kind-hearted soul。 Not that other characters in shonen don't have these moments， but this is a dozen chapters into the Kimetsu no Yaiba series。 This isn't just a part of who he is， it's his primary characterization。 And I really dig that。 。。。more
